How to Fix Apple iPhone Black Screen of Death Issue?

What is the iPhone Black Screen issue?

The black screen of death is a very popular issue that happens in laptops and desktop monitors. Now the same thing is happening in people’s mobile devices too, especially the iPhones.

The most common reason for this happening is the hardware failure that is brought about by the device due to the following factors – the internal components of the device getting damaged, misusage of the device, a failed software update, or a virus corrupting the device.

Reasons why the Black Screen issue happens

The black screen iPhone issue can happen due to either of the following factors – software failed updates or hardware damages. Here are a few of the reasons why that issue happens in iPhones:

  1. Software Failed Update

If you are very careful with handling your phone and always ensure that it doesn’t slip and fall and even make sure that it does not get exposed to water and prevent it from getting wet. Then likely, the cause for such an issue would be because of something that was recently installed on your phone. It could also occur as a result of a failed software update.

If you updated something recently on your device and it failed to get completed, then that action could have corrupted your device.

  1. Hardware Damage

Another possible cause of the black screen appearing could be the result of your hardware’s fault due to damage. You may have mistakenly dropped the device one day or may have gotten your device soaked in water for an extended amount of time.

Events like these can lead to damaged components (hardware) of your device, which has eventually led to you encountering this problem.

Ways of fixing the issue

I will be suggesting a few ways how you can fix the issue, and if your device is still not working after trying these out then it would be for the best if you take your Apple device to an authorized store and get it checked out by the professional staff.

Here are a few ways how you can fix Apple iPhone black screen of death issue:

  • Do a Hard Reset on your device

If you force-start your iPhone that can aid the internal system of the device to stop all the hidden ongoing processes in it immediately. Then the device is going to be re-initiated in the correct way.

For doing this what you need to do is, do a long press on both the Wake/Sleep button however you call it, and also the Home button at the same time. Keep holding the buttons for prolonged seconds until you see the Apple logo appear and the reboot taking place.

  • Using the iTunes to do a Factory Reset

If the previous trick doesn’t work then now you can move on to the next technique – which is to perform a factory reset. Do remember that doing this will erase all of the data from your device. You should only do this step as a last resort. Also if you can, then prior to doing this step make sure that you have a backup of your files.

Now, all of that is done you can proceed with the following steps:

  • First, open up your laptop or desktop computer and then check if the iTunes app is already installed on it or not. If you do not have a PC that you can use, then go to your local Apple Store and ask for their help.
  • All the while, the iTunes app gets installed on your device and then launched, connect your iPhone device to the PC and make sure that it will be scanned by the program by finding the iPhone icon that appears on the menu row on the side of the upper left corner.
  • After that, you need to click the icon of your iPhone to view the details and settings of your phone.
  • Then go to the “summary panel” of your phone. Find the restore iPhone option and click on it.
  • Then you need to wait for iTunes to complete its factory settings restore.
