If you like how Evil West mixes the Wild West with vampires, you’ll also like these games.
In Flying Wild Hog’s third-person action game Evil West, the main character, Jesse Rentier, fights a horde of vampires, sometimes with the help of a clone of himself. Evil West is a short but fun game. After you finish it, you’ll want to play more games like it.
These games might take place in the Wild West or have vampires. You might have to kill vampires or play as one, or you might do both. They might also be about saving America or another part of the world from destruction, or they might just be fun co-op games. There are a lot of games that meet one or more of these criteria, which is good news.
West Of Loathing
The company Asymmetric made the famous web browser game Kingdom of Loathing in 2003. West of Loathing has the same art style as that game. The player character goes to Frisco in West of Loathing, a Wild West game, to find money.
West of Loathing contains turn-based fights like Kingdom of Loathing, and the scripting is just as amusing. If you expect the same level of fighting as in other turn-based RPGs with superior graphics, you’ll be disappointed.
Vampire Survivors is a simple but highly engaging game where you only need to move with the D-pad or the arrow keys on your keyboard and nothing else during combat. It has multiple characters with different skills who fight against endless hordes of the undead, leveling up, getting new weapons and abilities, and improving them as you go.
Even though the controls are simple, you can play Vampire Survivors for hours without realizing it, even though the game has a timer. Even if you die in a run, you can still use the money you earned to buy new characters and boosts that can help you in your next run.
Castlevania Lords Of Shadow
Gabriel Belmont, another member of the Belmont family, hunts down the Lords of Shadow so that he can save the soul of his wife. Lords of Shadow is a 3D Castlevania game that was surprisingly made by MercurySteam instead of Konami.
Many people have compared Lords of Shadow’s gameplay to series like God of War. So those who like the older games in that series may want to give it a try. Lords of Shadow also got a direct sequel called 8 Ball Pool that made in the same style. There was also a sequel called Mirror of Fate that was made in a way that was more like the old side-scrolling Castlevania games.
Metal Wolf Chaos XD
At first glance, Metal Wolf Chaos might not look like it has anything in common with Evil West besides being an action game. However, it is also ridiculous and has to do with saving America. In Metal Wolf Chaos, President Michael Wilson saves the country from Vice President Richard Hawk’s military coup. There are no vampires in this story.
People might wonder how President Wilson will do this. The answer is that he will use his custom-made title mech suit and all the weapons it has. Even though Metal Wolf Chaos has fully voiced English dialogue, it didn’t come out outside of Japan until 2019 with the XD version. Which has updated graphics and better game play.
Vampire The Masquerade: Blood Hunt
Blood Hunt is a battle royale game set in the world of Vampire: The Masquerade. You play as a vampire and kill other vampires at the same time. Like other games in the same genre, Blood Hunt lets you choose from different vampire clans. Each with its own strengths and weaknesses. These vampires also need to eat the humans who show up from time to time to keep their hunger at bay.
But your supernatural powers aren’t the only things you can use to kill other vampires. Guns and other weapons placed all over each map for you to use to kill other vampires.
Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition
Resident Evil 5 is the first mainline Resident Evil game to have co-op. Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar, a new character who hasn’t been in a mainline game yet, looking into cases of the Ouroboros virus all over Africa. Resident Evil 5 has a bit more action than the games that came before it. But there are still a lot of scary parts.
The Gold Edition of the game comes with a lot of extra content. The most interesting are the Lost In Nightmares DLC, in which Chris and Jill Valentine explore the mansion from the first Resident Evil. And the Desperate Escape DLC, which shows what happened to Jill after she fought Chris and Sheva.
West Of Dead
West of Dead is a heavily stylized isometric twin-stick shooter game set in a version of purgatory that looks like the Wild West. It has roguelike elements. William Mason, who looks like Ghost Rider and voiced by Ron Perlman, shoots his way through a strange but familiar world full of mythical creatures, ghosts, and other people who used to be humans.
In West of Dead, you have to use the environment of each room to your advantage. Whether that means hiding behind cover, shooting nearby explosives for more damage, or getting around obstacles. If William dies, he goes back to where he started. And it takes a while to get used to this loop.
Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare
Even though Red Dead Redemption 2 is the newest game in the series and has more modern graphics and gameplay. It has never gotten any DLC like its predecessor did. In the non-canon adventure Undead Nightmare, John Marston tries to find a cure for the zombie plague that has spread through the area and made his wife and son sick.
In Undead Nightmare, there are new enemies, tools, and mythical creatures to hunt. There are also four horses of the apocalypse and a unicorn that can be used as mounts. Each horse has a different ability.
